We do love all things Starwars related, but we do have alot of other hobbies aswell. So this is a fun project for us, but we wouldn't define ourselves just as "starwars-nerds". Obviously we did have a sort of StarWars related theme on our wedding! But that just happened to go down that way, since StarWars just had a revival, with all the new films. We grew up with Star Wars and it was a part of our childhood.
But hey, everyone loves R2D2 right? So building R2 is a really nice project for us! We do think all the different parts of building are things that we love, the engineering, the mechanical aspects, solving problems... because all R2 units are different. Being creative, with details, paint and making it all come together!
From our wedding:
First time we "met" R2D2, was an an Expo in Northern Sweden, "Nordsken" the 25th of May, 2017, it was also "Towel Day" and ofcourse we were keeping our Towels close at hand that day...
First part we assembled on our own build, the Teeces lightsystem up and running 9/6 2017:
Waiting for 3D printing for a thousand hours... these first prints, and other parts, were made during the weekend 2/6-5/6.
